<p>City fees should make sense for the residents paying them. Some Victorville homeowners, including residents on horse properties, pay storm drain related fees even though their neighborhoods may not have storm drains or receive the same infrastructure benefits as other parts of the city. Situations like this deserve a closer look.</p><p>I will advocate for greater transparency and equitable solutions when residents are charged for services or infrastructure they cannot reasonably access or benefit from. That means reviewing how fees are assessed, identifying disparities between neighborhoods, and making sure residents understand what they are paying for and what they receive in return. Fair government means every neighborhood gets a voice and every taxpayer gets treated fairly.</p>

<p>If residents are paying for a city service, they should receive a meaningful benefit from it. I will fight for fairer solutions for neighborhoods paying fees for services they cannot use.</p>
